As for me, I can only fall on my knees and pray that the Lord Christ,
who had died for me, might have His own way with me – that it might be worth
His while to have done what He did and what He is doing now for me.

George MacDonald Sunday ServicesThank you so much to all who contributed so generously to our Harvest collection. Stowmarket and Area Foodbank picked it all up this morning and were delighted. Thank you also to those who decorated the church and who helped to make the Bring and Share lunch such a lovely occasion.

Basic Safeguarding Training - Saturday 8 October 9:45amAlex Cubitt has kindly offered to assist people with the online Basic Safeguarding Course. Bring your ipad, laptop etc to The Grange (next to the Co-op) on 8 October at 9.45am. She will help you get up and running with the website and training platform. Coffee and tea will be available. Men's gathering - 20 October 8:30pmSome of the men from church are gathering again for a drink at the Elmswell Tavern on Thursday 20 October at 8:30pm. You are very welcome to join us.
A Time to Remember and a Time to Give ThanksOn Saturday 5 November at 3:00pm, you are invited to a short service called "A Time To Remember and a Time to Give Thanks" at St John's, where we remember the passing of loved ones and honour their memory. The service consists of readings, three hymns, a short reflection, the reading out of the names of those we are remembering, and the lighting of candles. The service will be followed by some refreshments.
Variety & Spice - Saturday 29 October 7:30pmOn the 29th October at 7:30pm St John's Elmswell will be hosting their third Variety & Spice Evening. We would really love you to join us. No need to book. Entry is free, but there will be an opportunity to give a donation to the work of the Church.
The evening will consist of music; comedy and poetry all performed by local folk. If you feel able to bring some nibbles and a bottle of wine/soft drink to place on a sharing table that would be welcome.
It would be so good to have the Church full and create a happy atmosphere. If you are able to support us, no ticket required, just turn up take a seat and we will do the rest.
Confirmation Service at St John'sOn Sunday 6 November at 3:00pm we will be welcoming Bishop Mike to lead a Confirmation Service. It would be lovely to have as many people as possible support this service.
