St John's News - 6 October 2026

Dear friends,

Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life.
Whoever comes to me will never go hungry,
and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
John 6:35

As we celebrated Harvest on Sunday, we were reminded of all the good things God provides for us. But Jesus points us beyond the gifts themselves to the giver, reminding us that he is the bread of life and that only in him can our deepest hunger truly be satisfied.

If you were unable to make the service, you can catch up with on the YouTube channel.

The next Ladies Brunch is on Saturday 10 October at 10:30am. Pam Millyard will be reading some of her poems. Please sign up at the back of church or let Lisa or Amanda know if you can come.

A date for the diary - on Friday 30 October at 4:00pm, there will be a Family Light Trail at church. As families arrive, they can enjoy various light-themed crafts, helping us to think about Jesus as the Light of the world and how we can all shine for him. There will also be a light trail around the church, giving families the opportunity to explore and experience the building in a different way. This will be followed by some upfront fun, Bible teaching and music, before we finish with hot dogs and refreshments for everyone. We hope you can join us!

In Christ,

Peter
