St John's News - 13 October 2026

Dear friends,

But the eye of their God was watching over the elders of the Jews.
Ezra 5:5

This verse refers to the time when the people of God were rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem. They could be encouraged by the knowledge that God was watching over them. Whatever challenges we face as God's people today, we can take comfort in knowing that he has not forgotten us and continues to watch over us.

If you were unable to make it to Sunday's service, when we looked at Ezra chapters 5 and 6, you can catch up by visiting the YouTube channel.

At next Sunday's 10:30am service, we will be looking at Ezra chapters 7 and 8. Sunday School will be looking at how God parted the Red Sea for the Israelites in the book of Exodus.

A date for the diary - on Friday 30 October at 4:00pm, there will be a Family Light Trail at church. As families arrive, they can enjoy various light-themed crafts, helping us to think about Jesus as the Light of the world and how we can all shine for him. There will also be a light trail around the church, giving families the opportunity to explore and experience the building in a different way. This will be followed by some upfront fun, Bible teaching and music, before we finish with hot dogs and refreshments for everyone. We hope you can join us!
