We start this week by saying thank you. Firstly, thank you to Nutz 'n' Boltz for last Friday's fundraising concert. It was a lovely occasion with great music. Thank you also to all involved in our Harvest Celebration - in particular the beautiful flowers, generous donations for the Stowmarket Foodbank and Brenda and the musicians for leading the service so nicely. In case you missed the service, you can watch it here.
Finally, of course, thank you most of all to the good Lord for providing for all our needs all of the time.
Christians Against Poverty.
This Sunday at 10:30am is Mission Sunday (10 October), when we will be hearing about the work of Christians Against Poverty (CAP). There will be 2 baskets at the back - one will be the regular collection and the other for donations to CAP. More information about CAP can be found here.
Church & churchyard tidy - Saturday 9 October 10:00am
Following the church prayer meeting on Saturday (which is on Zoom at 9:00am - to join, click here or, load Zoom and use Meeting ID: 685 295 1296 and Password: 816262), please join us to spend a couple of hours in the churchyard cutting back grass, bushes and clearing up leaves. There will also be a few jobs inside. Many hands make light work, so any help at all will be greatly appreciated.
Crisp bag recycling:
Do you have any crisp packets you would like recycled? If so, please pop them into the box in the church porch. These are collected regularly and taken for recycling. Please only put empty crisp packets in the box - no crisp tubes (e.g. Pringles), no popcorn bags and no other plastics.
Hilda Kentish:
Hilda was a regular attender at St John's for many years. Sadly she passed away on the 26 September. Her funeral is in church on Wednesday 13 October at noon.
Zoom Quiz Night:
Our next Zoom Quiz Night will be on Saturday 30 Oct 7:00pm. It will be a fun evening and the cost is just £5 per person. Please let John Evans know if you are interested on 01449 781251 or email Johnlevans2020@outlook.com.
