St John's News - 21 May 2024

Dear friends,

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you
will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Philippians 1:6

If you missed either the service on Sunday morning or the lovely Songs of Praise in the evening, please do catch up on our YouTube channel.

The service next Sunday is Holy Communion and Gavin Payne will be preaching on Philippians 1:12-26. Sunday School will be looking at the second half of Ruth.

Churchyard tidy - 8 June 10am
Please come along to the church on Saturday 8 June from 10:00am to noon to help tidy the churchyard and church. There will be a range of jobs to be done both inside and out. Your support will be greatly appreciated. If you have a strimmer, hedge trimmer or lawnmower you can bring along, it would be most helpful.

Psalms in Suffolk - 15 June 2024 10am to 3pm Holy Trinity Church, Bungay
This is a great event being organised by a group of us in Suffolk. It is a day on why and how to sing the Psalms, with lots of singing. This is a day for everyone - whether or not you call yourself 'musical'. We will be singing the psalms in a variety of styles. The emphasis is on enthusiastic participation rather than musical perfection. No prior knowledge of music is required; once you have booked you will be given exclusive access to a Psalm Learning Page to help you prepare. As we gather to sing the psalms you will be encouraged and emboldened by the power of the words and the strength of the singing.

This is also a day of discovering the rich Jesus-centred theology of the psalms. The psalms show us how to rejoice in Christ our Saviour and to know his comfort during seasons of lament and sorrow. As we sing the psalms the message of Christ dwells richly in us.

There will be regular breaks through the day. Please bring your own packed lunch. We suggest a donation of £10 per adult. Children are encouraged to attend and there is no cost for them. Please pay on the day with cash. More infor here:
